Develop your speaking skills

Develop your leadership skills

Develop your networking skills

Come to our friendly and supportive bi-weekly meetings where you will have opportunities to practice speaking, gain constructive feedback and develop at your own pace. There are 11 unique educational pathways as part of the Toastmasters education plan. Whether you want to become more self-confident at presentations, hone your skills to make them more impactful or inject humour into your speeches, you will find a pathway that will suit your needs.

One of the Toastmasters mottos is that Toastmaster is “where leaders are made”. Not only will you develop your communication skills at each meeting, but you can also develop different aspects of your leadership skills through many of our 11 educational pathways. Each meeting will provide you with the chance to develop critical thinking, organization, and planning skills. In addition to this, you can join our leadership team to learn to persuade, collaborate and build relationships.

We are a very sociable and welcoming club. Each meeting is warm-hearted and inclusive, and when each meeting finishes there are opportunities to stay behind on Zoom or in our face-to-face meetings to talk and network with other members. Many of our members have built strong, enduring relationships with one another over time, and you could too. Come to one of our meetings and give us a try.

HERE IS WHAT OUR MEMBERS HAVE TO SAY

Pankaj Patel

Being a part of Purley Speakers has given me much more confidence when public speaking. I have learned how to structure my speeches effectively and the leadership module really helped me to understand my leadership style. The clubs supportive environment has helped me take on more challenges and push myself further. As Purley speakers is a non-profit organisation, the low cost of the membership is an great additional benefit.
